2021 home missions
In place of our NYC Missions trip we are doing something we did years ag0 - Home Missions.
WHAT IS HOME MISSIONS?
Home missions is a time when our high school students are challenged and trained to minister to those in our own community who are hurting and need to experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ through acts of service.
WHAT WE ARE DOING
Friday night, October 8, 6:15PM-9:00PM: Our students will be ministering to the children of the Source and Kidz Kingdom through a fun and interactive children's program at the church.
NOTE: Since there is limited availability concerning volunteers for this ministry event, only the first 15 students to register will be able to participate. Students who sign up for this ministry opportunity will need to show up to a one hour Thursday night (October 7) training at 7:00pm.
Saturday, October 9, 8:30AM - 2:00PM / 5:30PM - 10:00PM
Saturday morning we are providing breakfast (8:30AM), having a morning celebration service and small training (9:15AM - 10:30AM).
At 11:00AM, our students will be separated into teams. One team will be downtown in partnership, with Cheese Louise and Health Right, helping feed the hurting and hungry of our community while providing necessities and having conversations. The other teams will be heading to homes to do needed yard work, small construction repair and painting for those in need.
The evening activities (start at 5:30PM) will include dinner, a worship service which involves games, worship and a message. Afterwards, we will be heading outside for an bonfire with 9 Square, corn hole, and plenty of fellowship and fun! The evening will conclude at 10:00PM.
What is the Cost?
Cost is $40 per student
We are requiring full payment regardless of what days and times your child/ren participate. This is because much of the money for registration is being used for our outreach ministry expenses and meal costs only. This means registration cost is acting more like a donation in order to provide financial means for ministry than an expense. Thank you for your understanding and participation.
